Πραγματοποιήθηκε χθες η 96η Τελετής Απονομής των Oscars στο Dolby Theatre, με οικοδεσπότη της βραδιάς τον JimmyKimmel για δεύτερη συνεχόμενη χρονιά. Φαβορί της βραδιάς δεν ήταν άλλο από το Oppenheimer, που είχε συγκεντρώσει 13υποψηφιότητες, αλλά και το Poor Things του Γιώργου Λάνθιμου, με 11 υποψηφιότητες με τη σειρά του. Τελικά η ταινία του Christopher Nolan απέσπασε συνολικά 7 βραβεία, στις κατηγορίες Καλύτερου Score/ Soundtrack, Φωτογραφίας (Hoyte von Hoytema), Σκηνοθεσίας, Α' Ανδρικού για την ερμηνεία του Cilian Murphy, B' Ανδρικού για τον Robert Downey Jr., Καλύτερου Μοντάζ και Καλύτερης Ταινίας.
Το Poor Things από την άλλη απέσπασε τέσσερα αγαλματίδια, με την Emma Stone να κατακτά το δεύτερο Oscar της καριέρας της για την ερμηνεία της ως Bella Baxter. Η ταινία βραβεύθηκε και σε τρεις τεχνικές κατηγορίες, αυτές του Μακιγιάζ, της Καλλιτεχνικής Διεύθυνσης και Κοστουμιών.
Το αγαλματίδιο για την Καλύτερη Διεθνή Ταινία κατέκτησε το The Zone of Interest (Η Ζώνη Ενδιαφέροντος) του Jonathan Glazer, ενώ οι Justin Triet και Arthur Harari απέσπασαν αυτό του Πρωτότυπου Σεναρίου για την Ανατομία Μιας Πτώσης. Oscar Διασκευασμένου Σεναρίου απέσπασε ο Cord Jefferson για το American Fiction.
Στο Oscar Β' Γυναικείου Ρόλου είδαμε μια συγκινημένη Da'Vine Joy Randolph για Τα Παιδιά του Χειμώνα (The Holdovers) του Alexander Payne, ενώ το Αγόρι και ο Ερωδιός (The Boy and the Heron) του Hayao Miyazaki και του Studio Ghibli νίκησαν το φαβορί του Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse στην κατηγορία Κινουμένου Σχεδίου.
Τέλος, η Billie Eilish και ο αδερφός της, Finneas O'Connell, κέρδισαν το Oscar Καλύτερου Τραγουδιού για το "What Was I Made for" της Barbie, το οποίο μάλισταν ερμήνευσαν ζωντανά στη σκηνή της τελετής. Αυτή ήταν και η δεύτερη οσκαρική τους βράβευση μετά το κομμάτι τους για την ταινίας του James Bond, No Time To Die.
