Πραγματοποιήθηκε για ακόμη μια χρονιά η απονομή των BRIT Awards, του μεγάλου μουσικού θεσμού του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου που γιορτάζει τα αγαπημένα βρετανικά και διεθνή acts του μουσικού στερεώματος. Beyoncé, Harry Styles και Wet Leg ηγήθηκαν της φετινής απονομής, ενώ ανάμεσα στους νικητές βρέθηκαν και οι Fontaines D.C., Aitch, Flo, Becky Hill και Τhe 1975.
Ως προς τα βασικότερα βραβεία, ο Harry Styles ανακηρύχθηκε Artist of the Year, απέσπασε το Mastercard Album of the Year (για το Harry’s House) και το Song of the Year (για το “As It Was”), ενώ τιμήθηκε και με το Best Pop & R&B Act.

Οι βρετανίδες Wet Leg κέρδισαν τον τίτλο του Group of the Year αλλά και Best New Artist.
Τα φετινά Brit Awards πραγματοποιήθηκαν στην Ο2 Arena του Λονδίνου. Είναι η πρώτη φορά που η τελετή απονομής πραγματοποιήθηκε βράδυ Σαββάτου, σε μία προσπάθεια της διοργάνωσης ν' ανεβάσει την τηλεθέαση, αφού την περασμένη χρονιά έφτασε σε ιστορικά χαμηλό ποσοστό, με 2,7 εκατ. άτομα. Οικοδεσπότης ήταν ο Mo Gilligan, ο βρετανός stand up κωμικός που έχει κατακτήσει πολυάριθμα βραβεία και υποψηφιότητες.
